Floridians Protecting Freedom, the group that coordinated the campaign to place an amendment protecting the right to legal abortion on the November 2024 ballot, exceeded their goal of collecting enough verified signatures.  Congratulations to the League of Women Voters of Florida, whose members played a vital role in accomplishing this goal.  Next comes the decision of the Florida Supreme Court, which must rule on the language of the proposed amendment.  There is opposition: Attorney General Ashley Moody has filed a suit and is asking the State Supreme Court to keep the amendment off the ballot.  The Florida Supreme Court is scheduled to review the amendment on February 7th.
