Who Are the Members?
Membership in the League of Women Voters, the most respected and effective grassroots organization in the country, is open to men and women of all ages. Our members make a visible difference by serving as community leaders using their experience to create positive, lasting change in our communities.
Why Should I Join?
Through participation in League projects, you will:
- contribute valuable service to the community while supporting our democracy at its most basic level
- gain knowledge on current hot topics and issues
- develop new skills as you engage in the political process with the League’s 100 years of experience
- make professional contacts and develop lasting friendships
How Much Time Does It Take?
It’s up to you! Your membership alone gives us the political influence needed to build a voice for citizens and a force for change. We cover a broad spectrum of issues and concerns; you can participate in a committee, support candidate forums and “get out the vote” efforts, voter registration, educational and speaking events, and have access to our Speakers’ Bureau materials. Others simply choose to support the League only with their annual dues.
What Do I Get?
By Joining our local league, you automatically become a member of LWV Florida and LWV of the United States. You will receive their publications along with the newsletter from the League of Women Voters of North Pinellas County and access to our membership of nearly 175 like-minded community leaders. In addition to your membership in LWVNP, your voice will be added to a powerful organization with members from all 50 states, Washington DC, the Virgin Islands, and Hong Kong.
