Wills, Living Trusts, and Legacy Gifts
Fund your donation with: Cash, Tangible Personal Property, Appreciated Securities, or Closely Held Stock.
Suppose you want to leave money to the League of Women Voters in your will, but you also want the flexibility to change your will in the event that life circumstances change. You can do both. In as little as one sentence, you can complete your gift. This type of donation to LWVNPC in your will or living trust helps ensure that we continue our mission for years to come.
These are gifts given to our League after your death. Legacy gifts can be included in a donor’s will or estate plan and can take many forms from cash and property to proceeds from life insurance to a retirement fund.
Gift From Your IRA
This is a tax-saving way to help your League. If you are 70½ years old and older, you can give any amount (up to a maximum of $105,000) this year directly to the qualitied charity such as our League without having to pay income taxes on the money. Gifts of $105,000 or less are eligible for this benefit, and you can feel good knowing that you are making a difference. This popular give option is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover, but you may also see it referred to as a qualified charitable distribution or QCD for short.
Memorial and Tribute Gifts
You may honor someone special with a gift in their name.
If you have a loved one who has been impacted by the League of Women Voters, establishing a memorial or tribute gift is a meaningful way to honor them or celebrate a special occasion, such as a birthday, while supporting our mission. Your memorial or tribute gift will extend the legacy of your loved one and will make a difference.
